We award grants of up to £2,400 for children and young people impacted by specific crises. The grants are designed to help children and young people to overcome their experiences by accessing activities that promote wellbeing, build support networks, and help them engage in education or learning. The grants can also support a safe and nurturing place to develop and grow up in.

We only accept applications from frontline professionals (e.g. a charity, housing association/support, school or public sector organisation), and who…
If successful, the professional will need to manage the grant spend, upload receipts and complete an evaluation survey.
Families and young people can not apply directly to us.
Children and young people must meet all criteria:
Child or young person must have experienced at least one of the following crises:
Child or young person has been physically or sexually abused, and are now working with services to support with the trauma they have experienced.
Child or young person has been emotionally abused or neglected by a parent/caregiver over a long period of time, which has escalated to Child in Need/Child Protection level due to the severity of concerns. Cases that have been de-escalated from these levels due to progress being made will also be considered.
Child has experienced or been a direct victim of domestic abuse incident/s in the home, that has stopped due to one of the following interventions:
Child or young person has suffered a violent crime, harassment, significant bullying, sexual or criminal exploitation, over a long period of time, either in school, in the community or online, which has led to significant changes in their life, such as Social Care, Police involvement or a school move.
Child or young person has very little or no contact with either parents and are supporting themselves emotionally and financially.
A child or young person’s parent/caregiver or sibling is terminally ill, receiving end of life care, usually via a hospice or another health service.
Death of child’s or young person’s parent, primary carer or sibling.
Child or young person is traumatised by a sudden incident which has drastically changed their life for which they are receiving support from an agency working in a related field.

If an application is successful, you, the supporting professional, will be asked to manage the funds on behalf of the family/young person. You will need to agree to the Grant Terms and Conditions, then:

Parents and carers cannot apply for grants directly. Applications must be made by a professional support worker.

Applications can only be made by support workers.
You may have a support worker already. This is someone who works for a statutory agency or charity, and who helps you in a professional capacity. They may be a health worker, a youth support worker, housing support officer, working at a school or college or in a similar role. Please ask them to look at our grant criteria.
Buttle supports children and young people. We do not offer help where there is no child or young person under 18 in the household, with the exception of young people aged up to 20 who live independently with little or no support from their family. All applications must be made by a professional support worker and meet our criteria.
