External Consultant – Policy Scoping and Strategy – Estranged Young People

Back to vacancies

📢 We’re looking for an experienced Policy Consultant

Buttle is commissioning a policy scoping exercise focused on improving outcomes for estranged young people.

Building on our grantmaking, research and the lived experiences of estranged young people, we want to identify an achievable advocacy priority where Buttle can make a meaningful contribution to policy and systems change.

The consultant will:

  • Identify where there is the greatest opportunity for impact
  • Build on our Beyond Estrangement research and No Easy Path report
  • Consider the policy landscape across areas including education, housing and health
  • Develop an evidence-based engagement strategy and example campaign plan
  • Help shape a blueprint for Buttle’s wider advocacy work

We’re looking for someone with strong experience in policy, advocacy strategy and influencing, ideally with knowledge of issues affecting young people and/or poverty and inequality.

In 2025–26, Buttle provided 227 grants worth £293,160 to young people estranged from their families. Now, we want to turn that insight into influence and help drive meaningful change.
