About Buttle and the YAP
Buttle is a national charity that helps children and young people. We provide grants for the things children and young people need, when they need them most. Hear from our current YAP members about Buttle here.
We’re looking for young people aged 16-23 to join our Youth Advisory Panel. The YAP helps Buttle to improve its work and increase the impact it makes for children and young people across the UK. Meet some of our current YAP here.
Who we’re looking for
To join, you need to:
● Have been supported by Buttle
● Be aged 16-23 (so you’re still 25 at the end of your 2 years on the YAP)
● Have good communication skills and speak a good level of English.
● Work well as part of a team
● Be empathetic and able to understand the others’ points of view
● Be passionate about creating change for children and young people
● Be open minded and not judgemental of the experiences and ideas of others.
How to apply
To apply, you just need to answer 3 simple questions using this short online application form.
You can use this document to plan your answers before filling in the form. You can write your answers or record them as a voice note and upload them via the application form.
The closing date for applications is 10pm on Monday 29th June.
What happens next?
If you’re shortlisted, you will be invited to an informal online interview. This will last up to
30 minutes and we will ask you a few questions about your application. The interviews will
be between 8th and 15th July.
You will find out if your application has been successful by the end of July.
To help kick off the new Youth Advisory Panel, we’re planning to run a residential in London or Manchester in August. Ideally you’ll be free to join this on Wednesday 12th and Thursday 13th August – but please still apply if you can’t make these dates!
