Grants Development Officer vacancies
Buttle UK is looking to recruit two Grant Development Officers, one to cover applications from Scotland, North East of England, and Yorkshire & the Humber, and the other to support our grant giving across the UK.
1 x permanent position, home based in Scotland
1 x 9 month fixed term role, home based
Salary: £30,000 – £35,005 p.a.
Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week

With nearly 70 years experience, in the last three years, Buttle UK has supported 11,700 children and young people who have suffered a crisis and distributed £8.6m in Chances for Children grants.
Buttle UK supports those living in financial hardship and dealing with multiple social issues. We provide funding to improve emotional, educational, and social outcomes for children and young people. For a small number of children, whose ongoing home environment is disruptive and chaotic, grants which support them to go to boarding school.
We are looking for two Grant Development Officers to join our small and enthusiastic team achieving amazing things. Applicants will have a demonstrable passion for improving outcomes for children and young people, have experience in giving or receiving grants, and be flexible, friendly, and efficient. You will share our values of being child focused, empathetic, responsive, collaborative, and accountable. Knowledge of issues around child poverty and social welfare issues in the UK, the ability to work independently and excellent communication skills are all essential to the role of a GDO.
This is a significant time for Buttle UK. As we enter the third year of a five-year strategy, we take stock of the impact of the pandemic, and now the impact of the cost of living crisis. Having developed our innovative Chances for Children grants, we have seen the impact these have, especially when we have been able to deliver them at a higher level of scale. We have a reputation for friendliness, efficiency and effectiveness in our grant distribution, and are always striving to do better. The role of the Grant Development Officer is vital in ensuring funds reach those who need our support most.
